Sauder is the nation’s sixth largest residential furniture manufacturer and North America’s largest maker of ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture. Headquartered in Archbold, Ohio, Sauder produces nearly 25 percent of all RTA furniture sold in the United States and employs approximately 3,000 individuals. Sauder sales totaled nearly $500 million in 2005.

Sauder markets more than 30 distinct furniture collections in a full line of RTA furnishings for the home, including entertainment, home office, bedroom, kitchen and storage. Offering more than 600 items, Sauder supplies the broadest assortment of RTA offered in the industry.

Recognizing the importance of consumer awareness, Sauder became the first RTA manufacturer to launch a national print advertising campaign. The 2006 campaign will yield over 72 million impressions. Also in 2006, Sauder continues its ambitious on-line advertising and search engine optimization initiative to increase traffic to sauder.com and its dealer locator.

Sauder Woodworking Co. is a privately held, second and third generation, family-run business. Subsidiaries include Progressive Furniture, a manufacturer and importer of traditional solid wood, veneered and laminate furniture; Sauder Manufacturing Company, the nation’s leading manufacturer of church seating and a major provider of institutional seating; and Studio RTA, an importer and distributor of home office, entertainment and art and hobby RTA furniture. These three companies bring the overall corporate revenues to nearly $750 million, and total employees to 3,800.

FACILITIES

Sauder operates some of the most technologically advanced furniture- making facilities in the world. Approximately 5 million-square-feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, including the 1.4 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art Erie J. Sauder Distribution Center, are located in Archbold. An additional distribution center is located in Salt Lake City, Utah Sauder ships over 37,000 items a day.
